Crew Profiles

Captain Kyle Fultz is an American with 25 years of professional yachting experience, 20 years as a licensed Captain. He has captained the previous and current Kismet for the last 8 years, and was fortunate to have the great opportunity of working through the design and build of the current Kismet. Kyle has navigated many of the world's waterways, but mainly prides himself on keeping a safe, world-class yacht, with a competent and motivated crew ready for the challenges and pleasures of hosting guests.

First Officer David Western hails from Canada. Dave is a licensed captain with 10 years in yachting, 2 of them aboard Kismet! He also has a valuable 7 years experience the Canadian Navy as a Navigational Officer. Dave is in charge of meeting all of Kismet's safety and security requirements, his high standards for both are appreciated and necessary.

Head Chef Mathew Metcalfe is a New Zealander with 8 years experience cooking on yachts and cruise ships. Mathew's style is tasty, contemporary cuisine with an emphasis on fresh, beautifully presented food utilizing the finest of ingredients and produce. His main aim is to make Kismet's cuisine unforgettable fare.

Sous Chef Tamara Steiger is a classically trained pastry chef with a 4-year Pastry and Baking degree from Johnson & Wales. Tamara relishes the opportunity to work with aboard Kismet learning further from a wonderful chef. Let her bake your birthday cake!

Masseuse/Beauty Therapist Belinda Spratt comes to us from South Africa with a 2 year Aesthetician Degree from the Isa Carstens Skin & Health Care Institute. Bel has worked and trained in some of the world's top cruise ships and yachts and is proficient with pedicures, manicures and facials. She is a body corrective and detox specialist, and further specializes in deep tissue massage. Energetic and caring, Bel is valued member of our team.

Purser Gerry Fultz, an Australian native, has worked in tandem with her husband Captain Kyle aboard yachts for many years. Gerry has varied duties: from fiscal responsibilities, to general oversight of interior operations, shore liaison, and human resources. When guests are aboard Kismet concierge duties are the main concern - no request too large.

Kismet's British Chief Stewardess Karen O'Hara is qualified in Interior and Spatial Design. Karen has been with Kismet for 7 years, rising through the ranks with hard-work and dedication from Junior Stewardess to Chief. In her management of the interior crew a spotless ship is always a priority. Her table and floral arrangements are first-rate, as are her professionalism, warmth, and attention to guest service and satisfaction.

Skye Handby had been 2nd Stewardess aboard several other high profile yachts before joining Kismet - we are delighted to have her aboard. She is from Australia, has a degree in Hotel Management, and is meticulous and perfect in all of her work, from room service to drink service.

Stewardess Jessica Moore is from New Zealander with a degree in Sport and Leisure. Additionally, she is a trained lifeguard and swim coach and an excellent bartender!

Stewardess Sharna Townsend is from Australia - a former Travel Consultant living her dream for the last year aboard Kismet. She loves to entertain and brings much cheer and humor to her position.

Wade Stubbs is the Chief Engineer from Australia's East Coast. Wade is a graduate of the Australian Maritime College with a degree in Mechanical Engineering. His considerable engineering talents and even-temperament make him a valued crew-member.

South African Paul Marais is Kismet's 2nd Engineer. Paul is a trained electrician and his two years in the shipyard during the build of Kismet have given him an unsurpassed working knowledge of this vessel. Together with Fernando he can be relied upon to keep Kismet fully and safely operational. Paul speaks German, Dutch, Afrikaans and Zulu.

South African Donovan Clark is Kismet's Bosun. In yachting since 2002, his navigational and boat maintenance skills are excellent. He takes great pride in running the deck crew professionally and keeping Kismet in pristine show condition at all times. Donovan is also an experienced sailor.

British Tom Daniel has a degree Sport and Exercise Science. He has worked as a Personal Trainer and Swim Instructor. Tom plans to gain licensing and sea-time and work his way to mega-yacht Captain in the future. Like the rest of the deck crew, Tom enjoys making water-sports safe and pleasurable for Kismet's guests.

Deckhand Philip Gutowski comes from Buffalo, NY and his sea-time gained serving on charter vessels on Lake Erie has already earned him his 100 ton USCG license. Philip is a valued employee and a first-rate boatman.

Deckhand Jimmy Lyons is an American with a Bachelor of Arts degree in Global Economics who has recently made the change from the financial sector to yachting aboard. James's enthusiasm and energetic good spirits are infectious and greatly enhance Kismet's ambience. He is an avid water sports enthusiast and is proficient in Spanish.

Australian Deckhand Will Millar brings useful skills as a trained Shipwright/Boatbuilder to Kismet. Will is an experienced and able boathandler with a calm, pleasant nature, and he can fix anything!
